Across Australia many regional centres are struggling through one of the longest droughts on record. As at late 2019, many regions of Australia were in significant drought, including Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria, also extending into parts of South and Western Australia.
Regional communities have now been ravaged by devastating bushfires that have destroyed lives, towns and businesses across NSW, Victoria and South Australia making it one of Australia’s worse bushfire seasons on record.
Government, charities and other agencies have been assisting local communities through a range of programs to provide financial support and resources to enable them to recover and re-build. People and organisations worldwide have responded generously raising money to assist those affected by these damaging fires.
